How Do Maps Manipulate Data

Tribute to The Lady of the Lake

climber Few know of it, but it marked a page in the history of French climbing. Located in the Paris region, bordering Lake City Courcouronnes side of Evry in the Essonne, La Dame du Lac overlooks the lake modestly from the 17 meters. This
concrete sculpture of Pierre Székely Hungarian is one of the first artificial structures dedicated the escalation of France. Completed in 1975, she hosted for over 20 years a generation of climbers. Its equipment is guaranteed: a practice more safely, The Lady of the Lake is now closed. But it remains there, always been a symbol of its host city.
Benefiting from its advantageous exposure to the lake, The Lady of the Lake was assessed for ease of climbers who found themselves at his feet during the weekend. Many remember the hollow hammer, or the small niche accessible stops that served as shelters in case of modest brief weather. The north face, a little austere and always the shade provided some climbing routes short but intense (if I may say so :-).
now destined for a quiet retreat, free of climbers who came to tickle every day, she deserved her little tribute, from a climber who has climbed for several years with enthusiasm ...

Prehistoric Climbing

You have recognized, the Diplodocus, a site well known block of the massive Three Pine Forest of Fontainebleau .
To get there, having joined Milly-la-Foret, continue towards Noisy-sur-Ecole by D16 then go into voodoo. In the village take the first turning left to enter the car park of the Valley Mee. Parking up the road to Mee for about 1km, the blocks are on the left.
arrived at the site, you understand immediately what prompted the appointment of the spot block. In the middle of blocks, a spring unit of the lot by its size. Largely dominating all other blocks of several meters and with a shape reminiscent of a huge dinosaur. The aptly named Diplodocus! The site
block is not enormous compared with other sites in the forest. Recalling a little site "Cul de Chien" Fontainebleau, rather sunny and sand everywhere on the site makes climbing very pleasant.
3 routes overlap on this website: Yellow (PD), Orange (AD) and Blue (D). Fontainebleau is a mythical climbing site, you will find in any good guidebook Climbing magazine. Among the few blocks, I appreciated:
- Bloc Blue No. 2 (4b): A slab just dump that passes through a little hook on the side tallon left foot, which helps to catch a good grip above. The rest follows in the wake
- Blue Block No. 20 (4c): A very nice passage that begins with a first panel portion, and pour. The output is by a rise in tallon loudly for help in recovery.
- Block Orange No. 22 (3a), the crack Pres'toi : No free grip, the block itself to challenge the other if one truly wants to remain in the shaft of the arrow or favor one side over another.
