Whats Does Measles Look Like

free magazine: ORIGIN

ORIGIN - Magazine gratuit d'outdoor Last week, in climb up to the room MurMur Pantin, instead of finding my usual magazine EscaladeMag (already exhausted), is a newcomer who was there: "ORIGIN" , a new magazine climbing free! In fact, after a brief re-reading the coverage, but rather an outdoor magazine! Not only climbing but also kayaking, trekking, caving and paragliding are also covered. Regarding the presentation, the design is rather plain and simple, I must say that it pleases me well, black and white in the articles are a great effect. For cons, the 35 pages of the magazine, just really a double page devoted to climbing, a bit poor I must say this first issue. I is not against other practices, but let's say I'm still climbing in the soul ;-) Also, it does not take away the quality of being free

:-) My opinion: "ORIGIN" is nice, but I am still on my hunger. I'm maybe not the right audience ... Go a little more climbing et serais p'tet convaincu you ;-)

News SOUTH ... New

Four months after the end of the course, 3 students in the group SENSE 2006 are still in Latin America. I received news of them. Their messages follow this short presentation:

Julie Cournoyer: After a long stay in El Salvador Julian went through Guatemala and Mexico in its long journey to the United States. The last I heard he was heading to Baja California to work in an orphanage.

Gabriel Léger-Savard (Gab-guy): After further training he visited Ecuador and Peru and Bolivia and had to go to Brazil. I do not know all the details of his trip but he is currently in Bolivia, where he makes the theater.

Abdelahad-Acosta Gabrielle (Gab-girl): After the internship she went down to Peru to Brazil and then (if it is made?) In any case it is maintenenant Chile.

Here are their posts:

Gab-guy (dated 13 otobre):

Happy Friday the 13th.

Well, I'm back in La Paz, there was a festival of theater, so I attended several parts. I also attended a workshop, but of misery, they skipped the practical part.

I also attended a few at a continental meeting of Aboriginal peoples that took place here. At a mass rally to close the event on the main square of San Francisco, there were dances, songs from around the Americas .... The sun beat down ..... before the crowded square, an Ecuadorian read the final declaration adopted by the continental meeting then there was a speech by none other than EVO. Unforgettable moment, jte tell it to return.

I return as scheduled around January 20 .... ticket last minute.

Gab-daughter (as of October 15):

Julien C. (As of October 6):

Hello interminable reckless, I write like that for nothing.

I change the paragraph, my first, if you remember, talking about nothing, it is about recklessness. A sunny day in September Guatemalan, I walk with my big backpack move, before my little bag, my wallet in my right pocket and my camera in my left pocket. I walk into a market place where you can not run (say the word), I walk, I walk, I walk and I suddenly felt a movement in my left pocket. I guess this is something alive, it intrigues me, I look and I see that it is a hand. One hand, one hand, a hand! I look at the holder's hand and I send him, by the power of my temerity, a message through my eyes that said, <> He understood, he removed his hand.

I continue to walk in the market since my power temerity worked. I left my wallet in my right pocket and my camera in my left pocket. I walk, I walk, I walk and suddenly I see a girl who escapes any small monaie it before me: I just do not pound on his monaie is precious little I do not avoid the left since monaie ' there is a person who has blocked me and the right is the same. The only choice is to retreat, but we know that only the bottom halves reckless turn, so I still bug then. At the same time, I suddenly felt a movement in my right pocket. I guess this is something alive, my brain, by the force of my rashness, quickly made the link event between the past and the present event. I cast a panic filled témérairaires waves while watching the person concerned who expels his hand in my pocket. I watch the merchants who looks at me and I looked in my turn, I see in their eyes the expression of the danger that awaits me, bit the hand that fate still retracting. So I cast another wave of panic reckless, but it unchecked that destabilizes the position of my body and dropped my little bag before I catches up with my forearm. After that, everything goes very fast, I feel another time of life in my pocket and they are not little white snowmen; I'm moving, the girl who picked up his monaie me as my bottle of water that fall from my bag, I took it, I checked my pockets, I watch the merchants who looks at me and I watch on my lap ... no nothing has changed, thieves dicipent this, I am victorious.

I put my wallet and my camera in my bag, I walk and lots of people tell me to watch me making hand signs that expresses <>, I finally told myself that I was lucky that it passes in a market, if the thieves could have run ... or even worse, steal.

This is a daring experiment, here is another ...

I banters with the Guatemalan in a hotel in less than two piasse by night, where I stay. Somebody's coming, it looks something on the ground with intrigue, I look where he looks as though I'm not near the entrance, j'appersois still the head of a person, just the head without the body ... because the body is hidden by a wall. I get up and go toward the person on the ground; j'entand his breathing which is completely abnormal, similar to the breathing of a person in the middle of an asthma attack. I put a meter from him, I observed and I draw no conclusions: breathing is difficult, it makes a lot of noise. His breathing is accompanied by sudden movement of the body. He coughs also like to eject the contents of his stomach. It is in full panic, as have ... I decided to be his support, I question the others around the necessity for an ambulance because the signs and symptoms associated himself with any first aid that I learned . I increasingly feel that this person has been drinking and that her body wants to eject the alcohol, so I help him to take a good position, but only the saliva results every time. Shortly after, I strongly request the ambulance which was already in appeal. Busques movements of the person are more concrete, I voice a crisis of bacon (it's a seizure expressed in more scientific term). The person therefore less and less control over her body, but still the same desire to liquefy the soil, then I would support both the head and periodically I help make the right position so that his mouth is the ground. This does nothing other than saliva and big burps. Sudden movements are stronger now, I knelt to put her head on my thighs that are, as you know anyway very hard, but unless the soil asphalt. It continued, it becomes a routine, he sometimes still tries unsuccessfully to puke. I held his head, and the life thereof parraiçait so strong that I met the greatest weakness, as sudden death. I laid it gently head, I quickly got up, I run to my room and cries <> I go into my room and I'm looking savagely my pocket mask ... and I find I return to the victim in preparing my mask ... no movement collectible, j'aproche my head out of his mouth to present and listen to his breath while looking though the belly moves. I do feel and can not hear his breathing by counting ... seconds after the fifth second, I vote her belly move. I headed back to the risk of another crisis. I understand that the number they call the ambulance was the capital, six hours from our hotel, they are doing so to call the ambulance designated. It continues, but with more abrupt movements, saliva is ejected slowly from his mouth when he is discharged, his statements incontient back once or twice, but still keeping his breathing. His head grows so heavily on my legs but his back off the ground, his breathing is still difficult as the exeption incontiences these moments, which makes breathing extremely quiet ...

Long after the ambulance arrives. I'm a little as if she is not there to keep my concentration. An ambulance leaves the van, very slowly. He walks with a slow indescribable for this kind of situation, it leaves these hygienic gloves still very slow, I guess his thoughts > He finally decides to leave his litter of 40's, you put it with the help of the other ambulance, the victim continued to wriggle. He posed questions without the press, such as: <> Nobody really know. I ask them if I can go with them, but I would have had no returns, so they leave.

The next day I'll go to the hospital, I see a woman who staggered by invoking biblical knowledge. Nobody notices me, she continues to whine about the fact that it did not take alcohol, it would not have happened ... I am fed and I insist, I introduce myself and all ... The Madame said like an idiot: It CONSTITUTION <> to cry on and a woman approaching from the other side of the bed. She has a Bible in his hands and began to speak of the Bible by approving what the other hysteria said ... I cut them and say <> They continue, I cuts later and I'm tired after I shook hands with the guy and I'm going. I go to toillette and I took a picture of it in memory of this adventure. I took another photo out of the wall that hides the room where they were located. That's how it ends.

I do not know how to conclude, much as I did not enter, I end up like that for nothing.

Slogans For Skateboard

of Antoninus and Francis Ecuador

Antonin and Francis continued to travel together after the course. After a long stay in the Amazon they returned a few days Pascuales (where Francis did his internship) and a few days at El Tamarindo ("close" to Jipijapa) where Antonin articled.

Antonin wrote many stories about their journey that seems to have been fantastic. I can not reproduce them all but here is one telling episode of their stay in the Amazon ... or at least attempt to go very low in the Amazon:

Today we are in the city of Puyo and we went to visit a military base and took a small plane, but the big bastard of no military not want to see us and told us that it cost $ 1000 and could come back tomorrow because today it's Sunday and everyone is on leave. Instead, we met an air ambulance pilot who is a gringo and charging 60 $ per person to go to the Huaorani. Tomorrow we will tour the airlines Cesna, because there are many. I'm very anxious to leave I am extremely impatient. Today while I was sitting on a terrace is a lady stopped next to me and told me: patience. I said yes patience is like that in Ecuador.

The days are tiring for nothing, we nap 2 or 3 hours every day because we always feel tired especially in cities. Not in the Amazon. Maybe we put us on all our expeditions in the jungles of Cuyabeno park. It was indeed very demanding. We left the morning only to return that evening, exhausted and filled with beautiful images and knowledge of adventure.

I just bought a big machete to 30 inches, because I gave my knife to Domingo, a native Quechua became our friend. He was in the Cuyabeno park, tourist guide speaking only English. He loved us very much. He has crafted baskets made of woven vines and crowns made of palm leaves.

So we will leave for the Amazon, even more deeply, more alone, more interesting!

few days later:

At the company avionette private ambulance we are told that we must have authorization from the COFENHAI, the Huaorani organization, because they We can not just throw it in as the Huaorani. In addition they must contact them by radio through the jungle to see if they want two gringos like us. I Isaiah us to pose as anthropologists research students who have special training and telling him everything we have done both months but could do nothing. The company could have problems to do this kind of stuff. In addition we have only passports of tourists so it works really.

The FARC will not take us hostage because we're not at the border this time. But I promise that one day Ill go, or FARC, and not that I shall know what the Huaorani people endangered and whose ancestral knowledge of the jungle are the most advanced of all the indigenous people of Ecuador.

I admire their ardiesse! How beautiful they are 20! I also admire their judgments. Return to Pascuales and Jipijapa without peer pressure and timing of the internship was a really good idea in my opinion. I have the story. Next time perhaps!

New Gab, Gabe, Julie and Catherine

The route of this small group of students is a little hard to follow. I attempt a summary put you in context, but you can also go directly to short! After the internship

MEANING, Gabriel (Gab), Gabrielle (Gabe), Julien, Catherine and Emily went together to Baños, a town cult adventure tourism in central Ecuador. I have also met there by chance, and we did a day of cycling which we will remind long time! After
Baños, Emily returned to Quebec, Gab is mounted in Quito and the rest are down south. Gabe and Catherine stopped in Cuenca (I assume) while Julien sped swiftly to Lima.
After a few days in Quito, Gab is back down south to join Gabe and later Catherine and everyone ended up in Lima ... but Catherine quickly left to Cuzco.
It's complicated, eh! Finally, the important thing is these beautiful previews. Gab says that the trip to Lima and Lima Julien said.

Gab July 21
Dear you,
We crossed the border there is a little over a week.
We made friends in Cuenca and have "nice-starred" on the edge of a river near Vilcabamba surrounded by the lush mountains and the microclimate of the place that gave us tons of orange fruit.

After the northern Peruvian arridité awaited us. Chan Chan archaeological pre-Inca Chimu the people. Beach Huancaco we saw mill for 3 days and we here in Lima last Monday. We are welcome with a member of the troupe Vichama where is the Project Peru (Editor's note: The Peru Project is another internship Cégep St-Laurent).

People are so nice, tour of Villa El Salvador, a place of violence during the dark period of light paths. Percussion per tonne and theater, what more can I fill?

We leave tomorrow for Pisco, I wonder what draws us there?

I go back out into the city where we see less far than the horizon, and I will ride my spiral staircase.
Ciao Gab

Julien June 14
Here I am in a suburb of Lima, in a pueblo called San Salvador Villa. Here the project participants are Perú ... er .. their project. I'm just arrived yesterday morning and I have already participated in one of their workshops (art somnatique a stone or something like that).

So leaving Cuenca (Ecuador) on Monday, jai took a bus to Machala, and from there another bus to a border town that I remember the name of a another bus to another border town and from there a bus for Trujillo. In this small tour there was: a flat, two police checks, a military checkpoint, two customs, one silver lacrosse, a fast (not eat), and a total of 14 hr bus?

People Vichama, the theater troupe with which the exchange occurs Project Peru is really cool, it's totally an FTAA, Free Trade Area Art! ha ha. It's funny, especially in the context of the FTA, free trade deals with just bleed, oops signed by the new president of Peru.

Here's pretty gray, actually I think not seeing the sun Since my arrival in Peru, and say that the landscapes are rather disappointing, that is to say that for miles round there are only houses and sand, sand, sabbble ... Girls Project Peru dailleurs stiff and stuffed with chips, which does not fail here (instead of green) puisquelle live in the sand .. Ive been able to get away.

the latest news Julien still had no fleas. Good luck!

New Julien C. El Salvador News from Patrick

After the internship in Ecuador Julie Cournoyer flew to El Salvador (Central America) to work with an organization he himself contacted. He would then climb slowly towards the north to the United States. Here is an excerpt from his message of 21 July:

I am well traveled to El Salvador and elsewhere I still am. I'm still in the first part of my trip to El Salvador and in a week to go to Chalatenango another month with the organization for which I work. I work for CRIPDES, an organization born in war and dedicated to various social issues such as the right to land, water, health and also reserves special attention to youth and women. I can not

say that I work very hard, in fact my goal was to work every day to the surrounding communities by sharing my knowledge of white such as teaching swimming (I say white because it is chlorine bleach) or first aid .

However it's slow and Latin America too, so, with the exeption of a first aid course that I gave at a school, I will attend to the "Junta Directiva" meetings Inside the community on specific topics such as creating a well or vague as the country's politics; to openings and even a flood ... I find it pretty interresting, it allows me to see how organisms are organized with the population.

Regarding the flooding, because it rained and the water is not coming in the earth. I went to help a pépinnière who have lost their flowers if they had not outputs. There were many people who came to help. In the background was not a big flood, it involved a small territory, but in the streets we were on top of the knees.

I live in a family, I'm happy. Apart from TV, DVD, VHS and three very good speakers, they are poor ... it may remind you something.

WOW! What a great experience! I do not know if he will return one day want one! But if you come back Julien, do not forget to be back to tell more in detail.

Argentina

Here, finally, as promised, hear from those who have sent me. Patrick is in Argentina since late June. Here is an excerpt of what he wrote on July 21.

I still have a month's journey. I'm not going to tell you all down, because it would take me too long, so I'll give you a summary.

All dabord, jai spent 8 days in the capital (Buenos Aires). Its a big noisy city that adored jai. On site, I found bcp people including a French one with which BCP was amused. Then sick of the city and speak french, I went to Malargue, skiing in Las Lenas, one of the most beautiful mountains in South America for 5 days.

After I went to Mendoza for the wine routes, because cest province of Argentina that produces the most wine. In addition, jai tried horseback riding for the first time, it hurts the behind! After 5 days in Mendoza, I went to La Cumbre to join the French paragliding. Finally, we made two national parks and we will make some more and after I go back to Quebec in mid August .... basically that's it ...

Hmm ... that's nothing to be desired even those who think they have seen everything!

My Cat Has Rodnet Ulcers

homecoming!

I asked students to send me news of their adventures, some words and photos, so I feed this blog until everyone is back home. A few days ago I received this e-mail recounting the long (very) long journey to the land of "3 Colombian "***. A return to full rebontissements worth being told in full!
*** Editor's note: The "three Colombian" these are the three students who passed through the Toronto and Bogota to prevent U.S. Customs because Ioana is not (yet) a Canadian citizen. Even for a short stopover in the U.S. she must have a visa. It was easier to find a flight that skirted (or flying) the problem.

I leave the floor to Jessica, one of the Columbian:

After spending a few days in the remote Amazon, our three Colombian spies find themselves finally "ready" (forced) to return to Canada ... A new mission awaits them there, to survive summer jobs ... In short, nothing exciting.

Arrivals at the airport with their big bags, made heavy by a bottle rum and 200 cigarettes, the three spies learn that their flight Quito-Bogota ... no more! So very bad mood, they embark on an earlier flight than expected to Bogota. Since they already spent six hours in transit, seven, it's a little swearing, especially in a Bogota airport that is as exciting ... Finally, already used to the cons-time Latin America, they finally take it zen ... But more

stop this advance, the more innéficacité system arises. In Bogota, Air Canada has only a tiny kiosk that only opens once every day! So of course when it is closed we arrive. We hang out at the airport and then trying to deal ... "Um, how 20 000 pesos worth in American money?". Briefly, the foaming time. Check

counter to six hours to finally get rid of our luggage, we discover that we were misled ... The counter opens much later ... to seven hours, but in times of Colombia. In the queue, we meet our future partner flights crappy, Carmela, a Colombian who goes to Canada six months to perfect her French and learn English. His parents approach us almost immediately when they hear a few words of French, and ask us if we can watch over her and give a boost to the language and operation because it was his first trip. While we accept and welcome a fourth Colombian spy (ironically the only true!).

So we finally passed the record (which was more like at customs: "Are you carrying firearms?") To finally get stranded in the departure lounge ... Maude slept on the floor and Basic Instinct played on television when there were children in the room ... Ioana was shocked. Briefly, the loading would soon begin when suddenly our bad luck has decided that everything would otherwise. The Colombian military police arrived and made everyone leave the room for a security check again ... GRRRR.

So we go out, and when we eventually re-entering the room, boarding had not started when our plane was taking off normally at this time (11 pm Normally we sleep for three hours already!). When everyone finally got through customs (because they found nothing ...), we still have cravings crowned because everyone is impatient and everybody wants to pass everyone, This only slows down the boarding because the hostesses want do that in good and due form. We finally end up going into the plane and surprise! Two people are sitting in our seats. After having dealt kindly to what they choosing it and placing then, we discover with horror that we are registered on the same places ... In short, we are five in this situation and we foolishly expect the hostess to return to see what happens. She finally returned and we Garoche around holes ... I'm stuck between two strangers. A sympathetic Madame ... and a gentleman who had drunk the wine to air! Finally, we leave, but with two hours late !!!!!!!! We now know that we missed our flight Toronto-Montreal ... But we need not worry, there are flights every hour ... No?

Arrivals in Toronto, we retrieve our luggage and the Colombian. It is eight o'clock in the morning. We arrive at the boarding desk to be told that we will probably have problems getting a new flight ... Because all the flights to Montreal have been canceled yesterday because of thunderstorms !!!!! (Editor's note: This was also the Canada Day!)

Then she put us on standby! This time it is the height, we are stuck in Toronto, just an hour from our bed! We look so sad the first two flights from us and without a flight attendant told us when everything is full for the day and that we should go to customer service Air Canada. At the counter, there is a monster file and everything moves slowly. We finally manage to speak a little lady with Air Canada. It tells us that everything is full for the day, but now we decide it's going to be done fooling around. It therefore urges and eventually we find four seats on a flight at seven o'clock in the evening!

short, we had to deal ... we entertained the Colombian (I brought with me to the airport bookstore to browse books about Canada ... In short, the kind of crap we do to pass the time, including going to brush teeth and hair to the toilet several times, place a mattress in a departure lounge, pretending to be in a huge mall and we are really tired, think of buying a pen " Canada, "pretending to be Canadian prairies and play tic-tac-toe in giant modules for children ... In short, nothing that we can be proud ...

So this time, several hours later and with a bit too much unnecessary giggles, we almost left on time ... To finally get past ........ drum roll ........... 30.5 hours in transport !!!!!

So that for long, long, long history of Colombian ...
I hope never again to travel with Air Canada ... We were so exhausted ... But we made a new friend and we enjoy him discover the pleasures of Quebec ... If we did not too traumatized ...

Here we made it safely and I am already nostalgic for Ecuador. I drank too much juice honeydew melon in two days and I was a little too excited when I realized that my
bag of plantain chips came from Ecuador ...

Finally, I already feel the call of the trip and I Peru said that it would be pretty good for next summer ... and for that matter, why not cross back to Ecuador a few days ...

802.11 Advantages Over Dect

Thanks! This is the end

A year ago we were facing a clean slate. We began this adventure without knowing a single person in Ecuador. If the course was a success Thanks to the participation of many people.

Thanks to Peter and Pascal, my first companions in the adventure, however, left the ship to deliver their respective infants. Thank you for your help and your support throughout the year and congratulations on your adorable little ones.

Thanks to all the former teachers of meaning that I have consulted 1000 times and have always been good advice: Guy, Louise, Andrew, Lucy, Jean-Jacques Paul. And thank you to the other teachers who have the hands on ensuring the success of the project, especially Frederic and Stephen.

Ecuadorians to all our partners who have decided to try their luck without really knowing what they were getting and did everything to make it a success: the UPOCAM á Jipijapa (Jose Negrete, Elias, Alejo, Rafael, Carlos Ernesto Sixto and all families who hosted the students), the Sisters of Mercy in Pascuales (Jeannine, Celine, Rose-Aimee and Maria Theresa and family there too) to Katherine of Camino del Cambio and the whole world of CORDTUCH.

A huge thank you to our intermediaries through whom we have discovered these wonderful communities and thanks to whom communications were pleasant and efficient: Azucena Tamayo, Narcisa Negrete and his family in Ecuador (Irma, Roberto, Romel and those whose names I forget), Verónica Bustamante, Consul General of Ecuador in Montreal, Richard Simard Development and Peace, Isabelle Dorion Dreamkapture Travel Tom Walsh, Genevieve Bleau and Yves Perry.

A thank you very, very special to Paul-Emile Bourque, Director of the Cégep de St-Laurent who believed in us and who spared no efforts to make our lives easier. Ditto for the members of the administration, support staff of the Foundation of the college who have joined him. We really feel that you were doing a little more for us!

to our donors: the Foundation of the college, the Parents Committee, the OQAJ, CSN, Law and Democracy, FNEECQ, and sponsors of each student. Without you the lives of these young adults would not have much enriched the summer.

Finally everyone I forget, here now in the jungle, surrounded by mosquitoes, I also thank you for all this is a teamwork.

Pokemon Dawn Piercing

I do not want it to end! I have so many different things to say: other exotic fruits, electioneering, the adventures of students Pascuales I finally know. But all good things come to an end and as my stay Ecuador ends although I must end this blog. If you want to know more, you will come back next year to follow the blog of SENS 2007!

The course had several purposes:

last group photo:

Last Supper:

first separation when half the group left for Guayaquil and the other part remained to Playas:

The next day was the first international departures. Thursday morning we woke up at 6:30 to greet Yves, Marie-Pier, Amil, Marc Anthony and that Elianne return to Montreal. It is always best to go first. Snif!

Minutes later Audrey, Isabella, Veronique and Marie-Claude left the hotel to Peru. Re-sniff!

And finally a few hours later Antonin, Maude, Ioana, Jessica and Francis were the last to leave the hotel to Baños.

I expected them to leave before leaving myself as a captain who must be the last to leave his boat. For me this adventure lasted a year. A year of time with these students daily. A year to think about them day and almost night in the hope that they live an unforgettable experience. A year to neglect everything else ... I could not contain tears (and even some tears) when I found myself alone with the emptiness that had created the departure of the last students. Snif! Snif! Snif!

Fortunately I had left some test papers to correct!

I left Guayaquil to quickly change my mind. When I entered the bus that would take me to Guaranda, heart still heavy, I found myself faced with this sticker:

"Time passes but memories remain"

An end worthy of a movie!

Calories For Sugar Cookie

A review for the grand finale ...

During the year we have been saying to students that feel this was not a trip but an internship. The proof is the comprehensive examination which took place on the last day. The least we can say is that the classroom where the examination took place was a bit peculiar:

Vba Saves To Gpsphone

Paratransit ...

I've little about transport, yet it is a very important aspect of Ecuador and South America in general. As Cars are expensive, and anyway it is risky to leave them unattended in the street, the vast majority of people moving in transit. In the city taxis are plentiful but still expensive for Ecuadorians since it costs about $ 2 on 10 minutes when the city bus costs about 25 cents to travel the same distance (and as it takes 45 mnutes instead of 10, it is much cheaper per hour !!!).

For interprovincial travel, buses are more comfortable and it takes about $ 1 an hour of transport. For example, the Quito-Riobamba trip takes 4 hours and costs $ 3.50 And no joke, it's not really comfortable unless Orléans Express charge $ 45 for Montreal-Quebec. In

countryside and small towns, everything is possible! It goes from the famous ranchera about which I have already spoken and that I could find a picture ... (And not the least! It is when we had a puncture Jipijapa back toward last week:)

... until small van in which we can try to break records .. . (14 students here and all their luggage in Playas!)

... or larger vans which run rain or shine time ... (here is a trip of one hour in the rain with Ioana)

... via Pachamobile, the van's UPOCAM. It's a van a little special that I had the great privilege of driving, to the delight of students!

is that last Saturday night a small group of students and I had to go to highlight Father's Day in El Anegado, the community of Catherine, a short half hour drive from Jipijapa. Unfortunately the person who would take us there did not appear, leaving us alone with the Pachamobile (named because in recent elections it was used to make propaganda for the party Pachakutik). To have already made trips with her, I knew how it was in bad shape, but I do not doubt how much!

I was offered the lead up to El Anegado and I have been prepared: remove the board and the newspapers which serve as driver's bench to add 2 liters of water in the engine is exactly under the seats; assess the amount of gasoline by dipping a stick into the tank (through one hole of said reservoir); grow fifty times on a button to, I guess, to raise gasoline to the engine. Regarding the lack of mirrors, suspension, horn (though essential here) and speedometer, fuel mileage and could not do anything about it.

bidonnées Students were in the very long coastline that would move up from the outset and in which I was unable to go into 2nd gear. But ultimately I must admit that the transmission is the only thing that works not so bad on this garbage.

We had a blast on the road. A gringo driving this thing with 4 gringa in the box back, it does not go unnoticed! We arrived without problems in El Catherine Anegado where we waited with his family.

And we came back the next day also without problem. It was enough to put 2 liters of water in the engine and weigh about fifty times on the button!

Most Reliable Washing Machine

News soon ...

Sorry for the radio silence, I was kept away from internet for 5 days due to severe end of the course. Indeed, the internship officially ended Tuesday but I have seen from the last students this morning (Thursday).

The blog is not finished yet. I promise you several texts for Friday and Saturday issue of telling the end of this great adventure. I also asked students to give me news of their travels in Latin America when I update the blog periodically over the next 6 months.

So stay faithful back soon, soon, with texts and pictures.

Logitech Eyetoy Usb Camera

The end ... or almost ...

that ends tomorrow is the portion of "families" of course. It only remains to return to Guayaquil to conduct the final review and partying on the beach at the aptly named town of Playas.

My greatest regret has been not being able to visit all the students in their family. Since two weeks I concentrated on students most distant to make sure everything was okay since I saw the other almost daily in the city. Ironically, so I will not see houses Emily Anne, Benjamin and Emily who are either in town or relatively close.

But you will understand why I run out of time when you know what it takes to visit the most distant students. I dared not speak before on the blog for fear of worrying parents, but now that the internship is completed without glitches, you know where your children live! The farthest

are Patrick, Antonin, Eliane and Maude. All further apart than others, in directions different. You can try to follow on this card I made for our arrival in Jipijapa find me (there is apparently no official map of the area!):

Take for example the Antonin house, where I went Friday. If you want to track on the map, starting from Jipijapa must go east (right) then take the road (arrow) that rises to the top right corner of the map.

short, to go Antonin must first take a bus kind of wood called La Ranchera (unfortunately I do not pictured). It takes 1:30 to get to the city Noboa's where you should take another Ranchera for 30 minutes until the start of the dirt road that takes us to El Tamarindo. The dirt road, walk (or take a horse but I have no horse, so you have to walk!). And it goes up! Good god it up! But it's beautiful! Good god, how beautiful!

After 40 minutes of walking was the reward of getting to that point of view overlooking the small community of El Tamarindo

From there you can see far, far away, very, very Home away from Angel Silva, the traditional medicine specialist hosting Antonin. And this is where we begin to hope they'll be at home because the cell phone network does not go there when there is no way to announce his visit!

Anyway, after more than 2h30 of transportation and so much sweat over, it is not about rebrouser path so close (!) Goal. While walking fast (luckily it down) we came home 20 minutes later. Wow! Nice house!

The meeting with the families is worth every effort made to get there. They are always super-friendly people who are happy to show us their part of the country. So we chatter for an hour, dinner and then hop must be returned at a run because the last 16h Ranchera goes ... to an hour's walk from here!

And if it is missing? It turns back (1 hour walk) and layer with Antonin!

Results: 6 hour trip to visit 2 hours! Get involved ... he said

The gringos in the newspaper!

What a surprise Friday morning to find ourselves in the newspaper El Diario ! Like all other newspapers across the country, the largest daily in the province of Manabi devoted many pages to victory in Ecuador against Costa Rica in World Cup football and especially the parades spontannés held in all cities. We participated in the parade in spite of ourselves a bit because we were out of town to work in another community. But in our "box pick-up we seemed to celebrate like everyone else ... what we did indeed! Our photo essay that appeared in the paper presented to the A4 page is legitimate

The photo caption at top right reads: "In Jipijapa algunos extranjeros is unieron al festejo" . And zooming in on the photo is very well recognized Jessica, Julian, Emily Anne, Benjamin (side) and William (the back of the truck).

I keep a copy of the newspaper for those who want to roll the page!

fruit salad ...

One of the nicest things of Ecuador is arguably the great variety of products found on each floor. Among these products, fruits are those who impress us the most because Quebec is poorly equipped in this area. Here we do sometimes surprising discoveries. Like maracuya (better known in Quebec as the passion fruit) that grows abundantly in the land of Élianne.

Today in the forest of bambu we made the discovery of the mamey. A strange fruit whose flavor resembles a blend of orange and papaya but its shape is more like a melon mixed with coconut.

Anyway for some very pleasant discovery this was a good excuse to relax the hard work out of the bambu forests! Sacred lazy!

And when this is not the exotic fruits that surprises us is abundance!
